I was asked to go to A&E on Wednesday morning by Dr Rudd with a letter as I had a large cyst that needed to be removed urgently. Unfortunately I had to wait for over three hours in reception before being called through to be assessed, finally going up to the Surgical Ward at lunchtime, just a long wait until a bed was free. The staff all wonderful looking after me in the Ward, I had to fast from Tuesday night, only sips of water. I was put on a saline drip, paracetamol drip and given liquid morphine. I couldn't take any of my meds, of course. Finally had my operation at 11pm, didn't know they even operated that late! The cyst had burst slightly so didn't want to leave it incase I got an infection, I was eating sandwiches with a nice mug of tea at midnight. Discharged at 2.15 Thursday and brought home by hospital transport. I would like to say a big thank you to all the nursing staff and doctors I saw, very kind and caring. I loved the food too! Just unfortunate I had to wait so long at A&E as a bit of a mix up, I thought I was going straight up to the ward not realising because of the volume of people attending the department, plus waiting on a bed. The only thing I was completely shocked was how two physiotherapist shouted at an elderly lady on the ward, not acceptable!!
