From the receptionist, right through to the end of my visit for check/treatment the hospital gave me a 1st class service. The Horton Hospital is close to my address, easy to get too and delivered to me a fantastic service. Thank you to all the Horton staff I came across on my last appointment.

I don't rate the maternity ward unfortunately I feel they really let me and my baby down. Although the midwives were amazing in delivery the staff upstairs on the ward are unfriendly and I'd say harsh!! The a&e is brilliant and all the nurses are fab! I've been to this hospital more then I'd like but being animic and needing intravenus treatment, being an equestrian and having some great falls while riding and having 3 children means I've been here a fair bit!! The special care baby ward in partially needs funding the staff do an amazing job but would benefit from help!

My father was looked after in several departments and wards and all the staff were very caring and attentive. The hospital has fewer staff and less funding than the larger Oxford hospitals and compares very well.

Attended outpatient breast clinic, managed to have all required tests within a morning and received results same day. Even with a lot of patients to see and needing to go to various departments within the hospital, all staff gave clear instructions of what was required from me and were friendly. My only criticism was being given my results and advice on required treatment/tests in a corridor next to the waiting room and nurses station. I found this impersonal, not confidential and didn't feel I could ask the questions I wanted to. More consulting rooms could avoid this.

The level of care is ultimately down to how well the whole customer experience is and from that viewpoint it was a dismal failure. I tore a calf muscle when stepping out to cross the road to get to the car park on the other side. My husband took me into A&E and helped me to the door with me using a walking stick. Whilst he parked the car in the heavy snow. On hi return I had already been into triage and there was only one person waiting ahead of me. Based on the knowledge that I only needed a couple of minutes with a doctor and issuing with crutches I expected to be around a n hour tops. After 2hrs many patients had arrived and jumped ahead of me. We complained that this was ridiculous and was told within a couple of minutes we were now at the head of queue. Another hour passed by which we were just going to leave as it would be quicker to order a set of crutches online and get then delivered than wait at A&E. 2 minutes with a doctor and finally we got some crutches. The actual 2mins of care and the triage were fine, but wholly unacceptable patient waiting time considering the lull point at which we arrived.

I came in for foot pain & was seen straight away by nurse. Waiting times on seeing doctors could improve as this is the issue I've had in the past.
