From my pre-op appointment to my day care stay yesterday 27.7.18 I can honestly say Halton Hospital is first class. I was made to feel at ease from the moment I walked through the doors. I was asked to come in for 9am and although my operation didn’t take place until 3pm that afternoon I was looked after by incredibly hardworking, thoughtful and caring staff. It was also good to have a tv on the ward which was a great distraction. Initially everything was explained to me by Consulant Ms Gossedge and her male colleague who both also came to tell me how the operation had gone. The Anethasist Mrs Fazacerley and girls who prepared me for theatre made me feel calm in what was an anxious time. Gill, my nurse who looked after me throughout the day is a credit to her profession and a prize asset to Halton Hospital. Not only did she carry out her duties diligently she went out of her way to be both warm and friendly to myself and my husband when he came later to collect me. Gill lightened the mood by making me and the other patients on Ward B4 laugh and feel at ease during a time when you can be quite fearful and anxious.
