If you want care never visit this hospital as you will not get any, it is a disgrace to the NHS , I called it the alternative NHS , it was horrific , from the minute you walked in it was sheer chaos - I immediately knew that I had made a mistake agreeing to enter, because once your in there is no way out. I had deep depression caused by pressures from my business and the last place I needed treating was here, I need peace calm and quite and that is the last thing you get her, screaming patients . out of tune piano. alarms going off, put in cell , (they call them bedrooms) next to the main road Police Cars, ambulances , fire engines lorries and cars , people in the street shouting all night long, this is not a place to recover its a place to become ill. Nearly everyone seemed to be diagnosed the same , I saw people with sleep apnoea on tranquilisers asleep with no CPAP machines, I saw a young lady getting molested, another selling her services , crazy people throwing tables and chairs around , staff that did not really care - and the coercion, coercion into taking drugs that you do not want, I insisted on seeing the instructions on mine, the side effects were 1o times worse than the depression I went in for Bathroom facilities were a disgrace and also scary to go into as you never knew who was in there and some of the people on this ward are dangerous people Took me a while to work out what was going on, I was not sectioned voluntary, but once they get you in they say you could be sectioned if you try to leave , that is scare tactics and false imprisonment Slowly I learnt the only way out is to pretend what they want to believe, do stupid things they want you to do, like paint butterflies or cook rock cakes , clean the dining room a little interact , take the drugs that you don't want to take , just do whatever they tell you, say your cured even though you never had what they said you have , just do whatever you need to to get back out For many years now I have been unable to forget my stay at the Gordon Hospital, I was petrified , when I got out I went to see 3 psychiatrists privately to ensure that I was Ok all 3 did not know why I was admitted and neither did I I could go on and on about the dreadful facility as what I witnessed was very disturbing indeed , I have read that it is closing thank god is all I can say as I feel sorry for anyone that should enter this correction facility as that is what it resembles, it is a facility that operates not so differently from Victorian times, head my words to not agree to enter the Gordon Hospital ever and never send a family member there And to the NHS and Government close this disgusting hospital it is not fit for purpose at all
