I eventually discharged myself having been in A&E for 6 with the prospect of another 2 hhour wait. It was making me feel worse. All I was told was my bloodpressure was low and was puton a drip. After a while I was told I was blocking the unit and shouldgo back to the waiting area. There was no possibility to get a drink, Ii was yold I would have to wait until I had seen the doctor, oh and the vending machine wasn't working. On a very hot day withnothing to drink, no wonder I was feeling worse.. eventually I went to discharge myself and the canula was removed in the waiting area. My husband tells me this is nirmal practice as it happened to a friend of his when he was sent home with the canula still in his arm and had to be taken back in the middle of the night, long round trip. I did not see anyone cleaning inside or out all the time I was there. I suggest a bit more managenent by walking about could improve things.
