I was sectioned for having mania and psychosis on 26 November 26 2022. Surrey Police smashed in the door to my ground floor flat and it was left open during the whole of my 3 week stay at Farnham Road Hospital. I was held in the assessment suite which was basically a prison cell for at least 72 hours and during this time I was not allowed out for fresh air. Some of the staff made cruel personal comments to me obviously based on information that the NHS hold about me. They clearly don't understand what a mental health crisis is. When I was finally taken up to the Magnolia Ward I turned on the shower in my room before getting in it and boiling hot was was coming out of it. I would have been scolded and scarred for life if I hadn't tested the water first . One mental health worker actually said that anyone with mental illness should start the day with an ice cold shower to 'snap' them out of it. What on earth?! Sometimes the staff would promise that you would be allowed out later that day for some fresh air then wouldn't let you out at all. Lots of false promises were made and one night they didn't give me the medication that I need because I was 'asleep', they should have woken me up to take it. The Magnolia Ward's staff should all be struck off for incompetence and the Ward should be shut down. It is not fit for purpose.
