June - September 2019 sectioned on a section 3 for Bipoler Disorder. I was frequently ‘restrained’ and Injected with medication, dragged to seclusion, sat in countless Dr meetings for my view never taken seriously. I was deemed treatment resistant . Newsflash I wasn’t treatment resistant, I have responded perfectly well to Lithium which was not offered by this hospital who favour antispychotics such as Olanzapine which makes you gain a few stone at least. The consultant was wonderful but the nursing staff were jaded, cynical, rude and talked to me like a lesser citizen, I could name a few who did this (Magnolia Ward) but my view might not be published. The physical surroundings are great, very modern and clean with some activities, but this hospital really needs to Change the way they treat young women. Older men are treated with far more compassion and understanding and women always labelled with either Pd or mania. Granted I was manic but the hospital made it so much harder for me to regain my life outside. I am still traumatised by the memories of being pinned to the floor and jabbed in the arse, and all the other memories of being in Magnolia. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND but Re physical appearances this is the best hospital you can be in being built 5 yrs ago.
