We attended the pediatrics GA theatre with our son aged 8 who has very complex needs and is non verbal. We were very well looked after. We were very anxious as was our son. The team was very friendly and the communication was fantastic. We were very reassured during our time there and advised of all aftercare and given the 24 hour number to call should we have any issues at home.

Suggested improvements
  • Happy with everything during our time at the theatre.

My son was seen and treated by Amita Peet and Alaya Khan. They were absolutely amazing with my son, how they spoke to him, treated him and made sure he was ok throughout the procedure. Amita got my son in for a procedure on the day so he wouldn’t have to come in and miss another day of school for which I was extremely grateful.

Suggested improvements
  • I couldn’t fault anyone or anything. Even though the staff were extremely busy they managed to fit my son in and I was grateful for this.

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the dental treatment my mother recently received at your practice under the care of Mr Geoff Bateman, following her surgical procedure in April 2026. While we understand that dental surgery can be complex, we are extremely concerned about both the clinical experience and the manner in which my mother was treated throughout her care. Firstly, the surgeon’s approach was not reassuring or compassionate. My mother felt spoken to in a dismissive and unfriendly manner, which increased her anxiety during an already stressful procedure. We believe that patient communication and bedside manner are an essential part of safe and ethical care, particularly in surgical settings. Secondly, following the treatment, my mother has been left feeling significantly unwell. We are concerned about her post-procedure condition and whether appropriate aftercare, monitoring, and advice were provided. She did not feel adequately supported or informed about what to expect during recovery or when to seek further help. We would like the following addressed: * A full explanation of the procedure carried out and whether any complications occurred * Confirmation of what aftercare advice should have been provided * A review of the communication and conduct of the clinician involved * Details of how the practice will ensure a more compassionate and patient-centred approach in future * An urgent review of my mother’s current condition and whether further clinical input is required We are requesting a written response and a formal review of this case. If appropriate, we would also appreciate information on how this complaint will be escalated within your complaints procedure. We look forward to your response within the standard complaints timeframe.

Suggested improvements
  • We feel the experience could have been significantly improved through better communication, reassurance, and patient care throughout the process. In particular, a calmer and more respectful manner from the clinician would have helped reduce anxiety and made my mother feel more comfortable and supported during treatment. Clearer explanations before, during, and after the procedure would also have been helpful, including what to expect during recovery and what symptoms would be considered normal versus concerning. My mother did not feel adequately informed about aftercare or when to seek further help, which contributed to distress once she became unwell. We would also suggest more attentive post-procedure follow-up and a more patient-centred approach, ensuring that patients feel listened to, taken seriously, and cared for both clinically and emotionally, my mum complaint of severe pain during her treatment, again she was dismissed Mr Bateman, saying “we are towards the end” whilst rolling his eyes. The surgical department believed someone solution was left in my mums mouth.

Excellent and thorough checking my mouth and reading all what she received from Dr.k.kAUR and my history of treatment as well and then she shared with her consultant Mrs Andrea Richards. Thanks.

Suggested improvements
  • Please follow up with my case. I’m awaiting your next meeting with pleasure.
