The midwifes are absolutely fantasic. I couldn't have asked for better care. One midwife inparticular really stood out for me. Her name is Nicola Silcocks, she always took the time to ask if I had any questions and explain them so I never felt anxious as I knew she was there to help me. I don't know how would have got through my pregnancy without the team of ladies who do an amazing job. The only negative experience I have had is with the healthy life style clinic. The way in which I was made to feel and the way thing's were explained and put across was awful. By the end of my pregnancy I refused to see the clinic as I always ended up leaving in tears. Yes I was aware from day one of my pregnancy I was over weight with a high BMI and the implications to my baby. However I did my best to keep my weight gain to a minimum. I only gained 18lbs in total which I still believe was really good. But they always made you feel like you had failed yourself but more importantly your baby. It took me a good couple of weeks after each appointment before I started to feel better about myself again. I would NOT recommend the healthy life style clinic to anyone as I feel it can do more harm than good, as my experience was always a negative one.
