I was an inpatient on ward 11F. I was taken to 1st floor for an X-ray by a porter on a chair. The lift stopped on several floors on the way down. On one floor 2 nurses squeezed a trolley into the lift beside me with a patient on. There was literally just enough room in the lift for the chair and trolley to be side by side. On another floor a porter got into the lift and the same on another floor. So it ended up with 5 staff and 2 patients squashed into the lift. There was absolutely NO regard for social distancing from ANY of the staff. How can this be right when patients have to go without visitors due to Covid? It was clearly the norm for staff to do this. On my return to the ward I was taken into the ‘Hems patient only lift. 3 other staff got into the lift with no patient. I was woken at midnight to say I was being moved to another ward. All my belongings were put on the end of my bed which meant I could not lie down. So I had to sit there until the porter came. The porter never came to take me to the new ward until 1:30am In that time no one came to let me know why there was such a delay. When we got to the new ward 13D the porter said to a nurse at the nursing station that I had come from 11F. She never even looked up from the screen and just said bed 10.. A HCA came and introduced herself to me and was very pleasant. I did not see the nurse who was supposed to be caring for me until he came to do medication at 6:30. He greeted me with “Hello I have your antibiotics” and proceeded to administer IV CoAmoxiclav. He never introduced himself as to his name or profession and never asked me what my name is. He never even asked how I was doing. As a registered nurse myself I found this appalling. He should have at least ensured that he was giving the medication to the right person and asked if I have any allergies! The day nurse was great I can’t really fault her but how can your care be so contrasting from one nurse to the next?
