Left Clifton Park Hospital Wednesday 16th Dec 2020 after having a total knee replacement operation there on the Monday afternoon (two & half days stay). Fantastic staff, great team spirit, who gave me first class medical care. It doesn't matter if you are referred through the NHS or you go private. The hospital staff don't discriminate. The anaesthetic team (Chris, Rachel & two gents) were very reassuring and efficient whilst I was being prepared for surgery. My surgeon, Mr Gibbon, and his assistant have done a great job and my knee is now straight after being crooked and arthritic for a long time (delayed by the Covid crisis). The nurses (Joanne, Smitha, Hilary, Lucti, Bethany, Juliette - sorry if missed any names), the two Radiographers (Graham & Chris) and support staff (Theresa & the catering ladies) were great too. They certainly knew their jobs: but made the time to introduce themselves and chat if I wanted to. Nothing was too much bother - thank you all so much. Also thanks to my physios (Alex and Dobrinka) who encouraged me to "work" the knee for the best result. Alex had plenty of ideas to make my recuperation so much more effective. Dobrinka did the after care assessments which were very helpful and motivational. I don't normally do reviews. But I went from someone who was very worried about my forth- coming op to being totally reassured. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
