As you can imagine this was a difficult experience for me to go through. I recently self referred myself to the Maple Ward and after 5 days I discharged myself. The care I received was fantastic, the staff were lovely and made me feel at ease (considering they had other patients to care for!) The only criticism I have is I felt deprived of my liberties and rights (Even though I was informally admitted) As a Healthcare worker myself I know my rights and the system very well! This shows that they treat every patient the same which is the right thing to do if though I felt deprived. I put myself in that situation and have learned from my experience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff on the Maple Ward for my care. Especially Ella, Adam and the lovely bank staff lady plus the lady who gave me a very warm welcome to the ward. I’m sorry I can’t remember all of your names! Silly me! Oh and the bingo lady who wished me well as I left! Keep up the good work you lovely bunch.
