Blocked toilet. 3 1/2 hour wait. Appointment times hours late. Not enough chairs. People sitting on the floor. OneDoctor on duty for 40+ patients the NHS is well and truly broken.
We were made to wait for over 3 hours in urgent care with a 5 month old baby who had a suspected allergic reaction to be told by the Dr to give him calpol.
The Dr in urgent care performed the exact same tests as the children's A&E nurse, but with much less assertiveness and confidence.
For example, the urgent care Dr tried to take our babies heart rate using a finger sensor. This method obviously wouldn't work on a 5 month old baby due to the size of his fingers. The Dr seemed to be making it up as he went along, which is very concerning.
I visited with my 5 year old son as he was experiencing symptoms of croup (a recurring issue that he has and he's currently under the respiratory team at the RVI in Newcastle(. We were on holiday at the time so wouldn't have taken him unless we felt it was necessary. The GP we saw was extremely rude, wouldn't listen to my sons history and completely dismissed my concerns. He even shouted at me at one point upsetting myself but even more concerning upsetting my son!!
I was seen to by receptionist., from there it was all systems go. From one department to the next. Treated with respect, by everyone
The treatment given was excellent and the time involved was not long really. They arranged for a porter to take me to x-ray due to difficulty walking.( I had broken my foot it turned out). I was also treated with respect and made to feel I was receiving the utmost care and understanding) Judith Duffy was a credit to the NHS. I could not find fault with my experience at all.
Rude staff to me while having sever back pain at 30 weeks pregnant
