Highly unprofessional I had one session with Samantha which I thought went reasonably well, except for the fact she kept citing her own personal marital experience which I thought a tad strange. I've never had a therapist do that before. I then booked another session for two weeks ago which I paid for in advance. This was then cancelled by Samantha as she has a 'pay 48 hours before' policy. I paid 24 hours before. Since we were new working together I felt it rather pedantic and over the top to cancel my appointment rather than to come to me and request in future that I pay 48 hours before (at the end of the day I had still paid her well in advance of the session) , but I just followed her lead as I was keen to establish a good relationship. We then had an phone session booked today which was scheduled for 3.00pm. She emailed me yesterday to ask if she could change it to 1.00pm. As a gesture of goodwill I shifted a lunch meeting to accommodate. I called her at 1.00pm, no answer. I then called her again. No answer. At 1.06pm she called me and launched straight into the session. I felt it important to mention she was calling late as I couldn't go past 2.00pm. She immediately contradicted me on the time and said she called at 1.04pm. I had Sky News Live on TV, my computer and my phone all saying the same time (it was 1.08pm at this point) and she wouldn't even accept what time it was. Then she went into 'Well I run late sometimes' but in a very angry and aggressive way. Then she asked what I wanted her to do about it. I said 'I want you to acknowledge what I've said.' Her response; 'Okay I acknowledge it, now what?' It was unbelievable. And totally unprofessional. Then she went into how we'd gotten off to a 'bad start' as I had not read her terms and conditions. She seemed really angry and resentful of having to speak to me. I tried to calm her down but she said she was ending the call and that I wouldn't get a refund, and hung up. So I didn't get my session. On Facebook she has disabled the review function which is very telling. If you're having issues with her I strongly suggest you report her to BACP, the governing body. People like her need to be struck off.
