My father has repeatedly been refused a gp appointment to discuss pain medication. Initially he was told that because he has been referred for further evaluation it was up to the hospital to arrange pain meds. As a result of being passed back and forth between the surgery and pharmacy, he was admitted to a&e because of complications plus a follow up hospital appointment. That has cost the NHS hundreds of pounds which may have been avoided if this surgery had seen him when he asked But I do want to recognise how wonderful the receptionist was each time I went to discuss my father’s health, taking time to update me and talk to my father on the phone and the on call GP who saw him and got him to hospital. Thank you
