In comparison to other surgeries, getting an appointment to see a Doctor is relatively easy, with availability often provided that day or the next. This is most certainly a bonus. However, I dislike that in order to speak to a receptionist you have to call an 0845 number...no patient should be charged to speak to their Doctors surgery. Please reinstall a local telephone number. I have found a couple of receptionists unhelpful and uninformed e.g. in relation to MATB1 forms and times of certain clinics that are held at the surgery. Ensuring receptionist are aware of basic surgery information is required. I have also found that sometimes my queries with regards to health concerns can be dismissed/rushed by Doctors and consequently I have been inclined to make another appointment with an alternative Doctor. I am aware that this is draining on the already stretched and limited NHS resources and so my only suggestion would be to allow the patient full vocalisation of their concerns without creating a sense of quick patient turnover.
