So my last contact was with a locum doctor after doing an online consultation, to which I got an email reply. The email was really concerning and mentioned a scan which I couldn’t recall having, saying that they had found something and were waiting for the hospital to get back to them and to make an appointment to discuss, symptoms mentioned are what I was having so I assumed the ‘scan’ mentioned may have been another test id had done so understandably I was concerned. The next morning the locum dr wasn’t in and I saw a nurse practitioner (she was brilliant) and she was as confused as I was as to where the dr had got all of the information he sent me from (clearly someone else’s notes!). She has had to start again with more tests as no follow ups had been done and no referral had been done either which should have been done in August! So long and short of it is that I could have something seriously wrong with me I’m not sure and the follow up was never done in august following a hospital discharge. The nurse practitioner Tara has however done all of the referrals that she said she would (I’ve checked on the nhs app to ensure this has been done). I just feel that the surgery are failing me by not doing the referrals that should’ve been done months ago! I just hope that the person whose notes they clearly read instead of mine doesn’t slip through the net too as clearly they have got something really wrong with them! Most of the reception staff are helpful and try their best to help, there are however a couple of staff who speak to patients like they are stupid and everything seems like it’s too much effort to help people.

Read the correct persons notes when dealing with patients, and if there is bad news then not to send an email as it worries people unnecessarily! Reception staff need a little training in how to deal with patients with respect. Also if a referral is suggested then it needs to be actually done rather than left months and another member of staff having to do it.

Phoned to get my daughters blood test results and the receptionist told me they came back normal. I didn't think anything more of it until doc phoned to say that results came back with something!! The receptionist are rude, abrupt, unhelpful and they talk to you like your stupid.have had had many problems with the receptionists. The doctors are great and surgery is lovely.

Receptionist staff need training on how to talk to patients in a kind friendly way. Also, they are not doctors yet they seem to think they are

Called in the morning with a suspected chest infection, managed to get into see Dr Williams within a couple of hours. Took time to access and gave me a prescription. Started feeling better within 24 hours. Very greatful..
