I always dread setting foot in this place. Front desk staff are just as unpleasant as the GPs, whose careless attitude is reflected in everything. For example, prescriptions are always a gamble. Either they refuse to issue the repeat prescription with no explanation given , or they issue the wrong prescription, or they forget to sign it- thus wasting your time because you have to come back another time. This inability to get the little things right should serve as a stark warning about relying on them for an adequate standard of healthcare. Unsurprising then that is nigh on impossible to get a specialist referral. We have taken to doing what everyone else does: go to A and E. That way, we get the diagnoses and referrals we need and are entitled to but cannot get here. The black woman on reception is in serious need of training in 1) basic courtesy 2) standard professional practice 3) communication skills 4) social skills 5) customer service training. She literally stopped just short of sucking through her teeth at me.
