Anyone who wants to make an appointment has to phone the surgery either at 8:45 am or 1:45 pm Monday - Friday. Then of cause when you phone the line is always busy. Sometimes I spent nearly half an hour on the phone trying to make an appointment but with no success. If you phone exactly at 8:45 am (or 1:45 pm) you will find a voice message saying they are closed and you are suggested to make a call at 8:45 am (or 1:45 pm); this voice message won't disappear till about 8:50 am (1:50 pm). I guess the reason is that - I found out that the clock on the reception wall is actually about 4-5 minutes late. I tried to make an appointment with a specific GP yesterday morning and was lucky to get hold of the reception. But I was told to call again at 1:45 pm today if I wanted to see that GP. I then started to phone the reception since 1:49 pm today. The line was automatically cut off for my calls made in the first 4-5 minutes without being getting through. Then the line became busy all the time. I eventually gave up the calls at 2:10 pm but cycled to the reception within a few minutes for making an appointment in person. The lady at the reception was polite. She told me that the next available appointment with that specific GP would be the next week. I asked what about an appointment sooner with any GP; the answer was to call for an appointment either at 8:45 am or 1:45 pm. Just thought the booking system is crazy!
