When I moved to this surgery, they refused to reinstate my repeat prescription for my antidepressants. I have suffered with depression for 8 years, and been on medication for 2, but after 9 months with them, they still insist they "didn't know me well enough" to authorise a repeat prescription, meaning I need to visit monthly to get medication issues. At one point, a GP agreed to 6 months worth of repeats, but this was cancelled without my knowledge after just 4 months. Due to being unable to access my medication, I have now severely relapsed, but as I am not actively attempting suicide, the receptionist told me I did not qualify for an emergency appointment. I called back every single day for a week at opening and 10 (when they release further appointments) and was told every single time that all appointments were taken and to call again the next day. I am disgusted my the ignorance and neglect by all staff, especially when dealing with a clearly vulnerable patient, and would move to another surgery in a heartbeat. Sadly, there is no other surgery that accepts patients from my postcode, so I'm forced to continue leaving my mental health in the hands of incompetent GPs and rude receptionists.
