Having cancer treatment and feeling unwell and fatigued. Advised by Cancer team to see GP for bloods etc. IMPOSSIBLE to speak to a Dr. Equally impossible to get an urgent appointment. (cannot ring at designated times when under daily radiotherapy treatment)! Receptionists demand to know what your problem is... why do we need to share confidential medical information with a receptionist??? There has to be a better system. Serious problems will get missed as mine nearly did!

Suggested improvements
-If your receptionists are told to ask what your problem is, please appoint nurses/clinicians as receptionists. Receptionists are not qualified medically to 'gatekeep'. -Easier access to GP appointments. -Stop getting receptionists delivering results as one did yesterday. Read out all my personal information and results which she was not able to interpret!! -Red flag patients undergoing chemo/radio so when they call with concerns they are not dismissed as I felt I was.
