As an older patient it is more reassuring to be able to see a regular doctor so that there is some continuity, this is not always possible.Telephone appointments are difficult because there are either not enough personnel to answer the telephone or not enough lines.Waiting times can sometimes be long compared to time spent with the doctor as sometimes one needs more than the allotted ten minuets, especially as when one is older you may have a number of chronic ailments that need attention even if it is just to allay ones fears. Referrals are good when required, Doctors receptionists and other staff are always polite and pleasant.
