I went to the GP for issues with ADHD I was told I can’t have ADHD has I am a highly qualified health care practitioner!! I’ve suffered all my life with all adhd symptoms but I was told I was suffering from anxiety! I’ve never had anxiety in my life! He never asked me any question about adhd he asked what I did for work and because I’m a band 7 nurse I was told that I couldn’t possiblely have adhd. even though I have the highest score on the nhs adhd score for the right to choose

Listen to the patient and not put words in my mouth! He said that I just said that I had anxiety I said no I didn’t you asked me if I ever feel on the edge and I said yes! So he automatically assumed that I suffer with anxiety!! I have an autistic daughter and I explained that I feel on the edge and inpatient when my house is a mess or I’ve just cleaned and within minutes it’s messy again! He said well I’ve wrote you have problems with anxiety now! I said I deal with mental health patients everyday and I know the symptoms of anxiety and I definitely do not! He then went to say well your not depressed! I said I actually am if you check my medication I’m on fluoxetine. He said well your not depressed now. And then put my symptoms down to an hormonal inbalance! When I asked if I need my medication changing he said no. So I said I cannot have an inbalance then can I?! Waste of time and simply down to money for referral!! the dr took no history all all to rule it out.
