The surgery is always busy so even if you do have an appointment, and each appointment is allocated 10 mins, it usually lasts 15 minutes hence causing a backlog and you end up waiting 1/2 hr beyond your appt time.
Also it makes it difficult for working people as taking time off is never accepted readily by an employer. Therefore, if there was Saturday surgery opening specially for emergencies and working persons, it would be of great help.
Additionally one cannot make evening appts in advance. They have to be made on the day and by the time you can get through on the phone, all the appts have been taken.
