This surgery is great when my two small daughters have been poorly.

I have had good and bad experiences at this surgery. My most recent visit, around 6 weeks ago, the doctor I saw (who is now retired), wasn't much help at all. I asked to be referred to the NHS for an ongoing mental health issue and was refused as was told "this would only be a temporary fix and you're best seeking help by paying for treatment yourself". It was also suggested I start again on medication. So a GP would rather put you back on medication and let you pay for treatment yourself than refer you to the NHS for treatment, which I am entitled to? At the time I was quite emotional, so not really what I wanted to hear. I didn't have the strength to question it at the time. On the positive side, the nurses are amazing and really lovely. I've never had an issue with the receptionists personally, but a couple of them can come across as slightly short when you approach them at the front desk.

Dr Ricter is very good, she has tried her best to me a referral for a hospital apt, but I have been told I'm still on the waiting list. She is sympathetic and has tried many things, doesn't give up. Dr Stansfield was one who referred me so she got the ball rolling, but made me feel worse about my condition due to her attitude. Made me feel like a bit of a freak. I had been told to ring the practise secretary if I still hadn't been referred, and she was really helpful.

We made a complaint in October 2015. It took almost a week to see the practice manager and we still haven't even had an acknowledgement let alone a response. It's now May 2016..The dispensary is nothing short of a disaster in terms of waiting times and attitude. Totally disgusted. As no alternative we continue to visit this surgery and must say that Dr. Aloa has been a very welcome addition. He is very professional.
