I love Studholme. I am often at the doctors as I have an ongoing condition that needs to be monitored and every single time I have whoever is on front desk is very polite. I have never witnessed them being rude to anyone. Sometimes the doctors are running late but still I never feel rushed. I have never had a problem with any of the current gp's and find them all great. People who say that reception are rude is mainly because they can't get an appointment for a few weeks, so therefore because of that, the receptionists are then deemed to be rude. It's not their fault and they can't just magic one out of the air if none are available. If it's urgent they do try to fit you in that day with the duty doctor and they do have to ask you what the problem is. This is because the duty doctor has to prioritise who needs treatment first. So if a patient calls about a potential urine infection and another phones about their 89 year old dad who has become confused and keeps being sick, then the gp will call that patient first. The other reason why the receptionist has to ask what's wrong is because if the condition is a sore throat or an infected wound etc then the prescribing nurses would be able to treat those kinds of conditions and therefore you could be booked in with one of them. They also have 2 great pharmacists there who can advise on any medication queries. I think they all do a surperb job at Studholme. Well done guys. One more thing, if you hate waiting in the queue to be booked in, then please use the self checking in facility. I have witnessed lots of patients moaning whilst in the queue saying that they will be late for their appointment if they don't get booked in quickly - the checking in facility is there to help you and save time in queuing so please use it. Oh yes and another thing. It clearly states on the repeat prescription box that prescriptions is a 3 day turn around, please then don't come back the next day to see if it's been processed - it says 3 days for a reason.
