i have been attending this practice for 20 years, and also attending with my children from babies. at the start there would be no other practice i would go to, especially taking my children, the last 5-8 years this practice has become like so many others out there. its all about ticking boxes. the care levels have dropped, there are clearly too may people attending now, the same as so may other Dr's surgeries. I can say without a doubt that the massive influx of immigrants has had a massive effect on our NHS. many immigrants are old & of poor health, many have children, many are pregnant. i do not believe the NHS are starved of cash, the managers of wards, departments, personnel are paid very very well. The money is being spent in the wrong places. you cannot get an appointment at Stonecot, most receptionist are rude, and abrupt. quite often you phone for over an hour to try and get one of those rare ''on the day appointments'', to finally get through & find they are all gone. you then find yourself booking for an appointment 2 weeks in advance for something that you need to see your GP for now! if you dare to request an evening apportionment, your stuffed, you try and explain you work, you can keep having time off, your get the sack, the wait causes your anxiety to be made worse, they just do not care. all this surgery does seem to offer is one of these nurse associates appointments, that no one wants, these people are not even trained as nurses, might as well be seen by the receptionist. so my advice, look elsewhere, the one thing that kept me to Stonecote was Dr John, who has sadly now left, the one DR that people would gladly wait 10 weeks if they had to to see. i think i will be going elsewhere also.
