In terms of care, cleanliness and organisation, the surgery is faultless, despite its somewhat Edwardian origins as a domestic building.
Two moans; firstly (to my mind) the unwarranted witing list for booked appointments - anywhere between a week and ten days hence, and secondly the God-awful parking arrangements that lead to some interesting discussions between patients/chauffeurs. Cordoning off 2/3 of available space for staff use is NOT a good idea!
It is great to be able to book appointments in advance online and to order prescriptions.
It is sometimes difficult to get urgent appointments as you have to ring at about 8.30 and if you are working this can be difficult. If you leave it later then appointments are often gone.
To date I have always received extremely good service and support from the surgery and from my GP. It can be a bit of a lottery as to whether you can get an appointment on the day but at least same day appointments are available and there is obviously a limit to the number who can be seen on any one day.
I have been at this surgery for over 10 years. It used to be easier to book an appointment but not now and especially for early the following morning. As I am often at work at half eight it isn't easy to get through to the surgery or to attempt to make an appointment in person. I often feel that it would be easier to book a regular appointment and then cancel it if I don't need it!! If I'm ill enough to need the doctor I want the option of being able to see him/ her without having to make several phone calls.
the girls on reception are very good and all the doctors take time with you
