1) Some receptionists need to have greater empathy when dealing with patients wanting appointments. Currently, they come across as bored, uninterested and surly. This lets down the great work being done by the doctors and nurses at the practice. 2) It is still very difficult to get a doctor's appointment within a reasonable time. Anything over three days is cause for concern and anything over a week should be simply unacceptable (I had to wait approx 12 days for an appointment). Maybe the practice should stop taking on new patients if they are struggling with current capacity.

Response from Sands End Health Clinic

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had to wait 12 days for a routine appointment. We are in the process of recruiting more GPs. We offer routine telephone appointments with our GPs. Patients can normally receive an appointment within a week. We run two daily walk-in clinics (between 9am-10am and between 3pm-4pm) and there is a duty GP available for our patients to speak to on the telephone throughout the day. Thank you for your feedback on our reception team. Our practice manager meets with the reception team regularly. He will raise this at their next meeting. Thank you again for taking the time to feedback.
