I have raised a serious concern with the health centre via the doctor I saw and the practice manager and am awaiting information about changes in their procedures but feel it is important patients at the centre are made aware of the present situation which I feel is a basic and serious problem that need to act upon quickly. As a patient with a rare and serious condition I was recently prescribed drugs I could have been allergic to and could have put me in a coma. The doctor I saw did not check to see which drugs I could take and could not have read my notes thoroughly. It appears their system does not flash up patients vital information e.g. serious conditions or allergies which I would have thought was an obvious and basic requirement particularly in light of the fact that that you hardly ever see your designated doctor so they are unlikely to know your medical details without having it presented to them. Another concern was that they did not have an up to date list of the drugs I can take on record. I am making a formal complaint and would expect their procedures to be internally reviewed and changes made quickly.
