Had a 'well man' check a couple of weeks ago but wasn't sure whether it incorporated a prostate blood test. Spoke with receptionist yesterday & she suggested a GP call back. Just received this & was shocked by the GP negative attitude towards me when I enquired about Prostate testing. I have MS & worried that my symptoms may mask the symptoms of a problematic Prostate. She was force ably stating that they do not do these tests routinely & it was something I couldn't request! I re-stated my concerns & she even said that men with Prostate Cancer could live as long as men who were Cancer free! I was made to feel that I was an irritant. I said that because of my MS symptoms & at my age (56) that maybe it would be wise to have a check. Eventually, she begrudgingly agreed to book me in for an examination with a male GP but I hope that your experiences are easier & better than mine.
