I saw Dr Sayer on 28 January 2015 when I was suffering from a very heavy cough. He prescribed Clarithromycin after discussing with me my experience of various antibiotics. He asked me to come back a week later. I was actually able to see him a day early, when I was feeling much worse, on 3 February. On listening again to my chest, he said that it was, indeed, much worse and sent me to Kingston Hospital A&E with a letter of referral for suspected pneumonia, a diagnosis which the hospital quickly confirmed. I was discharged on 7 February, after four days of intensive treatment, with a discharge letter to Dr Sayer, since when I have had two appointments with him, on the first of which he prescribed a finishing course of the antibiotics. I am now virtually back to my normal state of health and consider that Dr Sayer's treatment was not just effective and appropriate but also friendly and caring.
