The queue on the phone quickly mounts up, and you don't offer inperson appointments.
Maybe offer booking of appointments online, my daughters surgery has an online form you complete and she gets a reply with an appointment with the most appropriate clinician, with non urgent appointments being scheduled for a number of days in the future.
