My experience of the GPs and nurses at the surgery has generally been excellent. The problem is getting to see them. The length of time you have to wait for an appointment has got progressively worse over the last 5 years in particular, and the constant changes to the booking procedures are not helping give patients confidence in the service on offer to them. As this review is of the practice as a whole, I have to say I would not recommend it to friends and family, particularly as I have friends who are registered at the other practices at WBHC and they do not have the same problems with booking appointments.
The receptionists are helpful and friendly and on several occasions have "gone the extra mile" for us as a family when we really needed it. It is a busy surgery but the doctors and nurses do not make you feel rushed. I have worked in the NHS for over 30 years myself and know of the challenges faced by primary care providers, so this makes me appreciate this good service all the more.
I find it very frustrating that if you wish to see a doctor the earliest you can book an appointment is in a months time
I have given up trying to speak to a receptionist by phone to book an appointment. I find it less stressful to actually go to the surgery
My son had minor surgery by Dr Bews in the West Byfleet Minor Ops Unit. Dr Bews was excellent as was the nurse assisting him. My son was very scared but they were very good with him, reassuring and distracting him. He even got a certificate at the end (he was over the moon). It wasn't a pleasant procedure but my son came out smiling. I was very impressed by the care given to my son.
Thank you to Dr Bews and the lady with him for all their help and care.
