When I telephoned to make an appointment, it was extremely difficult. I was told there were no appointments with Dr Thomas and I should ring back each day to see if there were an cancellations, that the booking system didn't allow them to book into the following month. I explained that as I do not work locally that would not be feasible. Again I was told there were no appointments - I said I needed to see Dr Thomas as it was a reoccurring medical issue and when I had seen another Dr about it, he referred me back to Dr Thomas so it was she I needed to see. Eventually the receptionist gave me an appointment. I arrived for my appointment 5 minutes early and booked in, over 45 mins later I was still waiting with no information available. After my consultation, which was very good, helpful and through, I needed to hand in a swab sample. When I asked the receptionist where I should hand it in - was there a box? she said "oh I don't know, and I am not touching that". I was so shocked that I didn't say anything or ask her to explain, I just dropped it into a plastic bag she was holding out - Mortified I have to say the Dr's are very good, but some of the receptionists are in need of some customer service training. Not all, I have found a couple to be very helpful indeed - perhaps I am unlucky and get the less professional one each time
