I visited Newdigate Surgery today for a repeat prescription. Regrettably, and not without reason I had run out of my medication. The antipodean lady behind the counter said they could get the prescription signed, but the pharmacist said she would not have time to make it up, so I would be able to take it elsewhere which was fine. I was told to sit in the waiting room. I declined and said I was happy to wait by the counter. She then said I should go and sit down again and was less than polite! , claiming that standing at the end of the counter was intrusive of other patients privacy - despite this being a place people queue and there being several others waiting. There is also a notice saying that if people need to speak in confidence to the receptionist that they should make them aware. The way the lady spoke to me, as a patient and customer was rude. Interestingly when I went to the pharmacy in Boots in Dorking they dispensed without delay, and asked if I wanted to pre-order my next prescription so it could be ready for me next month! In general I have found the Newdigate Surgery a great asset, but today was a pretty poor experience!
