I had an appointment with senior nurse practitioner this morning. Had to leave work at attend. I've never seen her before so when nurses were calling people I waited my turn. After 20 mins I asked reception how late nurses were running, she said she didn't know because they aren't on her system. After 35 mins I asked what was happening. Receptionist said I could knock on door but they won't answer if someone in. I waited until next patient came out then knocked on door. Nurse said I wasn't on her system. I explained it was senior nurse practitioner and nurse said she's different to them and she didn't think she was in today. The first helpful person of the day - she went to check. Sure enough she wasn't in. I went back to reception and this time she actually checked the system. She said I'd had a call on my mobile at 7.20 to cancel. At that time my phone was beside my bed. I had no call, I have no missed calls and no messages. There were no apologies just a ring tomorrow to re-arrange. I missed an hour of work and will have to work extra some time to pay that back and all for nothing. Not impressed.

I have just read your comments when checking the feedback for November. Please accept our apologies for your bad experience on that occasion. I think that the problem has arisen because of the fact that the Health Centre is a multi purpose building and in addition to our clinic, staffed by the Practice Nursing Team, there are other Nurse led clinics which are run by other services, using different appointment systems. In hindsight it would have been a better service if the receptionist had asked you in the first instance which of the nursing teams you were booked with, thereby preventing your long wait. Unfortunately on occasions our clinic sessions do have to be cancelled at short notice due to illness, and our admin staff will start attempting to contact the affected patients as soon as they themselves arrive at work. We would like to investigate your issues further to establish if there is a need for refresher training with our reception staff. Would you please be so kind as to contact the Practice (please speak to Denise or Linda) in order that we may obtain the necesary information to investigate this problem.
