6th November 2014

I arranged an annual blood test ( thyroid and BSA) as agreed with Dr Williamson a year earlier in 2013. I booked the blood test with reception rather than making an appointment with Dr Williamson. The receptionist was very helpful but at one stage got confused as to when i last had a blood test. Attended my blood test on the 6th November 2014 with the phlebotomist who to my annoyance had no idea why i was there. She also said i had a blood test a month earlier in October. I replied she was incorrect and she went out of the room to check with a nurse and came back and said she had the wrong year. So i have three personal concerns........ do i wait for an annual recall for a blood test of an enlarged Prostrate and Thyroid which will never come.............do i save a Doctors time by arranging an annual blood test at the reception myself.............or i make an appointment with the doctor to ask for a blood test then to be told to go to reception to make the appointment. Can i also add that when i did have my bloods taken in 2013 they were lost and i had to have my bloods done again. Clearly somewhere or something in the system is making a small job of having a blood test very very difficult.
