I was under a consultant from6th October to 30th November going back and forth every other day to west cumberland hospital last year. Fast forward to January I went to Maryport doctors for a check up where the doctor changed my diagnosis from the consultant due to lack of sufficient evidence. Up on bouncing back and forth to the hospital to get my notes- one month later the doctors still had not acknowledged the notes required to confirm diagnosis. After the hospital chased this up I received a call off a very lovely doctor in the surgery apologising for the change in diagnosis- the reason they went against the hospital diagnosis was because they are not familiar with medical abbreviations- fancy that a doctors surgery not being aware of medical abbreviations!!!! this has caused so much anxiety and upset along with me feeling like I can not access my surgery for support for anything further. Why would people access a surgery where they are made to feel like attention seekers, feel like they are making things up and putting their patients in a potentially life threatening situation in the future for making ASSUMPTIONS rather than looking at the facts in front of them. Absolutely disgusting

Suggested improvements
The doctors should be aware of medical terms and abbreviations by not being familiar or failing to do the research further they are damaging their patients health and wellbeing
