I order repeat prescriptions online. I recently moved to this area and registered with this practice. It took about two months to be able to order prescriptions online rather than have to physically sumbit a piece of paper between 0800-1800 (hours where I am usually working about 25 miles away). At my last practice it took a few days to organise this. My last prescription order did not come through to my nominated Chemist (close to where I work). When I rang the practice I discovered that the existing online prescription ordering service was no longer sending items through to the practice - depite still being able to enter the details on the service. No communication, written or electronic, advised me that this service was no longer available. There is no immediate replacement for the online service. Again - absolutely no notice was given of this change. Luckilly there is just enough time before the Xmas holidays to arrange collection of the medication (whilst inconveniencing several of my colleagues cancelling meetings etc) before I run out. I wonder how many patients of this practice will have ordered online and run out of medication over the Xmas period?
