I've been a patient of the west end and chobham surgery my whole life, and I've never had a problem with any of the treatment. In fact,I've always come out feeling like I've had a really caring experience,and normally I feel much better just having seem someone. However, my visit today was unfortunately one of the least enjoyable experiences I've ever had. My regular doctor was not available, so I booked an appointment with a locum,which I thought would be fine. However i was slightly nervous as the issue I was going in for was relatively serious,and I was seeing a doctor I had never met before. The knowledge and ability of the particular doctor was great,but it was the very formal, unfriendly and cold manner in which I was treated that really dissapointed me. It almost felt like the doctor was there to just "fill in" and I actually felt quite let down by the normally great clinic. In future I'll wait for my regular doctor to see me and I think that if locums are going to be appointed,they should be aware that they need to treat patients with care and respect, even if they aren't they're own "regular" patients,and realise that it can be nerve wracking seeing a new doctor. I hate to leave a review like this of a normally brilliant surgery,however I felt so let down today,I felt I had to make people aware of using doctors who aren't they're own.
