I trust my GP implicitly and have always found all advice and treatment to be first from the doctors and nurses, however, I have have received better qualifying questions from car salesmen than from the receptionists who just seem to be intent on fobbing you off to see the pharmacist. I usually do have a great respect for these personnel whom I know have a difficult job but with little or no medical training I wonder just how qualified they are to triage patients. Twice in recent months I have tried to see my GP and failed and I am quite a forceful person and each time was refused an appointment and it was suggested that I go to the chemist, on every occasion the chemist told me I needed to see a doctor. When you're not feeling well it is ludicrous that it's such an ordeal to even contact your GP.
