I've been a patient at Llandaff North Medical Centre since 2006. All the doctors (and nurses) I've seen over the years have been fantastic. They take a real interest in my health, and they always involve me in decisions about my health. This was a new experience for me. The doctors at this practice discuss possible diagnoses and treatments with me, and if there is something they don't know or are not entirely sure about, they are completely open about it. It really encourages me to trust the doctor. One of the doctors at this practice (Dr Black) saved my son's life by quickly diagnosing (and arranging treatment for) his Hodgkins Lymphoma (cancer). He is now in full remission, and living a normal healthy life. I also owe my health (if not my life) to one of the doctors at this surgery - Dr Dayananda (now retired). After 7+ years of suffering from undiagnosed Coeliac disease, I had the good fortune to move to this surgery after moving house. Instead of just putting me back on iron tablets (as my previous doctor had done) Dr Dayananda recognised that Coeliac disease was a possible cause, and ran a simple blood test. What a difference it made to my life! Although it can take a week or so to book a routine appointment to see a doctor, I have never failed to see a doctor the same day when I need to see one in an emergency. The appointment system appears to work really well. Llandaff North Medical Centre has a good-sized car park, and is conveniently located next door to the finest pharmacy in Cardiff.
