I have been trying to phone them today (6 times) without any success. At the moment I have got as far as press 2 to continue in English and then there is silence. What is going on? I have belonged to this surgery for over 40 years. Since Dr Dyananda retired it has gone to the dogs!

Response from Llandaff North Medical Centre

I am very sorry to read that you are unhappy with the wait to get through on the telephone. If you are able to provide your telephone number then we can check that there wasn't a problem with the telephone system itself. Sometimes the demand to get through via telephone will exceed the number of call handlers but we do have numerous people answering the telephones at any given time and we monitor the call volume, dropped calls and the wait to get through. With GP practices across the UK stating work has increased by over 20% with little additional resource to tackle it, we do move our staff around as best as possible to handle the extra telephone calls we receive. In the 7 years that Dr Dayananda has been retired the NHS gone through significant transformation, weathered continued chronic shortage of clinicians and combated a pandemic. The practice will always listen to patient concerns so please raise them with the practice manager so I can investigate, action and reply to you. Patients are well within their right to register at another GP practice if they feel that their needs are not being met, but we would rather tackle any concerns you have than you feel moving surgery is the only solution.
