Firstly, the appointment system is a shambles and needs radical reform. The call back/triage service is very poor, and involves you waiting by the phone sometimes all day, and on several occasions not being called back at all! A two hour window for a call back would be a more sensible idea don't you think? Secondly, as mentioned on previous comments, several GPs possess a very dismissive attitude towards your health problems and are too eager to issue you with pills, which may not even be suitable for you, before ushering you out the door. You leave feeling dejected and often more confused than you did before the appointment. The nursing and healthcare team, however, are very kind and professional and I can't speak more highly of them. They treat you like a person and show genuine interest in you and your health. Perhaps some of the doctors at the surgery could learn some people skills from them.

Response from Leacroft Medical Practice

Thank you for your comments. We are currently working with our patient group to carry out a review of our appointments and telephone triage systems, and your feedback will be included in that process. As a practice we are active members of the Crawley Medicines Management group, and our doctors prescribe in line with national guidance and with the local framework. If you have any concerns or queries about medication that you have been prescribed you can discuss them with one of our clinicians, or with a pharmacist. If you would like to discuss these issues in more detail then please contact the Practice Manager so that we can investigate in more detail. I am pleased to see your positive comments about the nursing and healthcare team, and will pass them on to the staff involved.
