Have been with the surgery for over 25 years and have never had such bad manners from a GP as I experienced on 24th August 2017. I went over due to having palpitations, nurse kindly chacked my BP which she said was high and she wanted a doctor look at me, as I needed my heart rate checking. Dr Tomson, who I was to see and whom I've never met before, didn't even introduce himself and promptly and discourteously told me in no uncertain terms that the surgery was not a 'walk in centre '. I said I appreciated this and was concerned that palpitations suffered some years ago were returning and the previous Dr who had retired from practice advised me to get checked out at the surgery if I had any issues. I was told by Dr Tomson in no uncertain terms that the doctor giving this advice no longer worked there, a fact that I had made this GP aware of that I knew already. Dr Tomson did not even check my BP, offer an ECG and was non committal or concerned as to why I turned up at the surgery. He practically told me to get a taxi to the hospital to get checked out, or if I thought it bad enough to call 999. I was disheartened by the lack of compassion and non caring attitude this GP showed, and am now looking to change surgeries.
