It is impossible to get an appointment unless you stress that it is urgent.Even then it is still difficult. I appreciate that these are difficult times as far as the health service is concerned but this practice is really bad as far as appointments are concerned. I am almost 80 years of age and was feeling unwell. I phoned and was told there were no appointments available. I appealed, saying I felt ill and the best I could get was a telephone appointment a week ahead. I am going to try to move to another practice but am afraid they will be even worse. Hillhead Family Practice continue to accept new patients when they cannot deal with those already on their panel. They did handle Covid Vaccinations and Flu injections well but patients need to speak to and hopefully see a doctor. How can one explain pain a in specific place over the telephone?

Suggested improvements
There is a recorded warning when one telephones advising that abuse of staff will not be tolerated. This, of course, goes without saying but receptionists can be rude and dismissive and people are afraid to object in case they are accused of abuse. I have experienced rudeness on a number of occasions as well as good manners at other times. I am not a suppliant but a person who worked for 40 years, paying National Insurance. I am entitled to courteous, efficient service.
