To get an appointment at this surgery is almost impossible. Been trying to get a doctor to look at MRI scan results but told by staff no doctors available, Told by reception staff, surgery is in dire straights and paper work a night mare! Now surgery closed for Easter so its going to be a long weekend in pain. I know NHS is not good a the moment but things at the surgery really need sorting out and soon!

I am registered on line to appointments and for repeat prescriptions. I agree with previous info that appointments are hardly every available. I have just tried to order a repeat prescription which is showing on my file but to no avail. So popped over, once again only 1 receptionist on the desk and queue forming. Person in front couldn't make up her mind about an appointment time so we all had a to stand around waiting with queue growing longer. Why only 1 receptionist?? this is a very common situation with the queue sometimes out the door! Extremely frustrating. I suggest reception needs some serious attention!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We apologise if our service did not meet your expectations, and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. We continually strive to provide a consistently reliable service and an excellent level of patient care. By ringing either Glenlyn (0208 979 3253) or Giggs Hill (0208 398 8619), GP and nurse appointments can be booked at either location that you choose. You can call and ask for a ‘prebookable appointment’ at any time. There is a rolling programme of releasing ‘prebookable appointments’, so that there are appointments available daily. The majority of appointments are released at 8 am and do go very quickly despite the high number of appointments we have to offer. Nationally, we are seeing an increase in demand for GP appointments and we are also experiencing this locally, which means we are busier than ever. We have a full-time Practice Nurse and two Doctors who joined our team in May. We continue to undertake recruitment to extend the team further. We are also expanding our administration team and providing them with additional training to help improve how we work as a Practice. We appreciate your observations and your comments will be used as part of our staff training, in order to improve the standard of care and level of service we provide.

I believe the appointment system is now too complicated for the receptionists to manage. I phoned first thing this morning and was 25th in the queue. When I spoke to the receptionist I was told that I could phone or visit the surgery at 1pm for a sit and wait appointment. I asked if this would be with a practice nurse and was told it would be with Dr Vo. I arrived at the surgery at 1pm to be told that Dr Vo was at Giggs Hill, this was the first time this had been mentioned. I don't think this represents good patient care as I am left without having seen anybody and the condition persists

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are sorry to hear of your experience. As this is an anonymous experience, we are unable to comment specifically. However, we continually strive to provide a consistently reliable service and an exemplary level of patient care. We are currently expanding our administration team, who are meeting the challenge of taking a lot of information on board. We are providing them with ongoing training to help improve how we work as a Practice. We have an Urgent Care Clinic for appointments on the day. The Urgent Care Clinic is sit-and-wait at the Giggs Hill branch. This Clinic caters for sudden problems like sore throats, rashes and fevers. This clinic is primarily run by our dedicated and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who can diagnose and prescribe for these conditions, just like doctors. They are also able to direct complex cases to doctors at the surgery if needed. If there any medical concerns, please contact the Practice to arrange a routine appointment or to be seen in the Urgent Care Clinic. We appreciate your feedback and your comments will be used as part of our staff training, in order to improve the level of care we provide.

What is the point of an online appointment booking system when, much of the time, there are no appointments available to book. Literally none. Or, as now, only a few several weeks ahead all with the same doctor who may not be appropriate for,the patient. This is made even worse by the fact that rying to boom an appointment by phone with the doctor of choice is a frustrating near impossible quest.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We apologise if our service did not meet your expectations, and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. We continually strive to provide a consistently reliable service and an excellent level of patient care. We do have a dedicated Urgent Care Clinic for appointments on the day. The Urgent Care Clinic is sit-and-wait at the Giggs Hill branch, where there is large onsite car park and a spacious waiting room. Our clinicians make every effort for patients to be seen within an hour. This Clinic caters for sudden problems like sore throats, rashes and fevers. Patients have access to experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who can diagnose and prescribe for these conditions, just like doctors. They are also able to direct complex cases to doctors at the surgery if needed. By ringing either Glenlyn (0208 979 3253) or Giggs Hill (0208 398 8619), routine GP and nurse appointments can be booked at either location that you choose. The majority of appointments are released at 8 am and do go very quickly despite the high number of appointments we have to offer. We fully understand your concerns regarding continuity. Although patients may not see the same GP at each visit, the patient’s records are available at the time of their appointment. We do always try to offer appointments with the same GP but unfortunately this is not always possible. We are currently seeing a very high level of missed appointments and we would respectfully request patients let us know if they cannot make an appointment. Nationally, we are seeing an increase in demand for GP appointments and we are also experiencing this locally, which means we are busier than ever. We have a full-time Practice Nurse and two Doctors who joined our team in May, and we have another Doctor joining the Practice in June. We continue to undertake recruitment to extend the team further. We are also expanding our administration team and providing them with additional training to help improve how we work as a Practice. We value patient feedback and are looking to create a Patient Representative Group to foster good communication with a broad and representative group of patients. To get involved, please email at friendsglenlyn@nhs.net. We appreciate your observations and your comments will be used as part of our staff training, in order to improve the level of care we provide.

Asthma check ups with Nurse Lynn are always a positive experience. She shows interest in me as a patient listening carefully to what I have to say or ask and offering sound, excellent advise. I know I am in good hands. I always hope to see Dr Vo, but have been seen by Dr Dotan and Dr Sivagee on recent appointments. Dr Dotan was thorough and put my mind to rest about a blood pressure issue. Dr Sivagee during my appointment had to manage without the computer as the surgery system had crashed, she took it in her stride and had to cope by asking the right questions without access to my recent history. Both Drs were good communicators, knowledgeable and showed a sense of humour. Please hold on to them!
