My daughter asked for an appointment with a doctor and was given an appointment with a nurse practitioner she was not told this person was not a doctor and my daughter wanted a referral to a specialist for a problem that’s been ongoing for a long time and was told she needed blood test first by the nurse - she did no seem to know what we were asking her. This was my daughters experience and she was not filled with any confidence that she is going to get any help for her issue.She did not know that the person she saw is not a doctor and she when asked to see a doctor and was not made aware that the appointment was not with a doctor as there receptionist did not tell her that she was a nurse practitioner who writes prescriptions and I suspect is not able to refer patients because she is not a doctor ,because if she did she would have asked to see someone else.She feels she has wasted her time.Im sure This person is a very good nurse but she is not a doctor according To your website and receptionists should not lead people to believe that she is. Also my issue has been in the last 4 weeks a blood test that was either lost or not done and now needs to be repeated but iv now had immunosuppressive treatment so it will probably give a false reading which is why I had it done before the treatment but because it’s been lost having it redone will probably won’t show an accurate reflection.In addition to that twice in the last month iv had appointments made for me that I haven’t made and when iv turned up for one I have made they say it was earlier .Im concerned they are mixing me up with another patient of same name and similar age who lives around the corner for me and it is worrying given iv got such a rare illness that they may be giving her my results .My own doctor is fabulous and cannot fault her , my recent experiences with other aspects of the practice are not great .
