My daughter, a hardworking nurse, telephoned the practice (7 times before getting through) as her daughter, aged 14 months, had developed conjunctivitis overnight. As my daughter had to go to work, I went to pick up the prescription. I took it to 2 chemists, who confirmed that the medicine is no longer available in eyedrop form, as per the prescription. It was only made as an ointment, and an amended prescription would have to be issued before they could let me have it. I returned to the practice, who told me that nothing could be done - the baby would just have to suffer until tomorrow evening, when a revised prescription could be issued. I told them I was taking the baby straight to the "Sick Kids" hospital, they told me that I couldn't do this, as it was not an emergency. 5 minutes later, they rang to say that they could amend the prescription after all, and I could come to pick it up. i did so, and obtained the ointment, but why did I have to kick up a fuss before any action was taken? Why did the Doctor prescribe something that was no longer made? i have never dealt with such incompetent "jobsworths" since I last had contact with "British Gas"!

Suggested improvements
Given a decent service, without me having to kick up a fuss.
